The Crow and the Adder - £350 by Marjory Tait
Original watercolour and pencil. Framed size 52cm W x 76cm H. Image size 29cm W x 52cm H. Wooden frame with white wash, double mounted in white with dark cream coloured insert.
An original pencil drawing of a crow and a key in a tree, the roots of which are formed from a Celtic art style snake, surrounded by a key style border, by Marjory Tait of Highland Celtic Art.
The crow lives between both worlds and holds the key to unlocking the mystery of the afterlife. The adders or serpents represent the underworld. The key connecting to the Celtic key patterns which frame the image. Perhaps the key is reminding us to go back to the old ways and working with nature.
Image size 29cm W x 52cm H. White-washed wood frame. Glazed. Double mount; white with dark cream. Overall size 52cm W x 76cm H.
