Harebells - £325 by Marjory Tait
Original watercolour and pencil. Framed size 50cm W x 53.5cm H. Image size 30.5cm W x 29cm H. Wooden frame with white wash, double mounted in white with blue coloured insert.
An original pencil drawing of a hare, surrounded by a Celtic art style border formed from bluebells, by Marjory Tait of Highland Celtic Art.
The hare, a true Spirit Animal, framed by bluebells, with a background of standing stones and a glorious northern sunset. The warmth of the colours reminiscent of the flames of Beltane and the coming of the Summer.
Standing stones and stone circles were created in Scotland thousands of years ago. Why our ancestors did this, and even how, remains a mystery in the modern age. Whilst we may never know exactly, we may feel something of what has gone before.
Beltane, an ancient Iron Age Celtic ritual, that acknowledges the re-birth of life in the land through the return of summer season, and may have been celebrated amongst these stones. A festival of fire to celebrate, purify, heal, protect and bring community together.
Image size 30.5cm W x 29cm H. White-washed wood frame. Glazed. Double mount; white with blue. Overall size 50cm W x 53.5cm H.
