Having grown up on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands, Aimee Coulshed has been deeply influenced by the ever-changing environment around her. The shifting light, weather, and landscape found there provide a constant source of creative inspiration. She translates these natural elements—both their colours and forms—onto cloth through printing and dyeing techniques, which are then collaged and stitched together to create one-off linen artworks. Aimee embraces the textures and qualities of her materials, aiming to produce work that evokes a sense of calm and contemplation.

In 2019, Aimee graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design with a BDes (Hons) in Textile Design. She went on to exhibit at New Designers in London, where she received both the Romo Award for Innovation in Design and Colour and a One to Watch Colour in Design Award. Since then, she has exhibited with Alchemist Gallery, Edge Textile Artists Scotland at the Discovery Centre in Dundee, as well as in the Visual Arts Scotland Members' Exhibition NORTH (2022) at Wasps Studios, Inverness.
