Hazel Dormouse - SOLD
Original watercolour and pencil. Framed size 43cm W x 56cm H. Image size 23cm W x 30.5cm H. Wooden frame with white wash, double mounted in white with blue coloured insert.

An original pencil drawing of a dormouse, surrounded by a Celtic art style border formed from corn, by Marjory Tait of Highland Celtic Art.

Hazel Dormouse with a headband of forget-me-nots is sitting on a delphinium, framed by a wreath of corn. Her tail becomes an integral part of the plait and supports a ladybird.

She symbolises Lughnasadh - the beginning of the harvest season. The circle of seasons linked so completely to life; the land warms and blossoms to bring forth food to nourish and preserve life through the short days and long nights.

Image size 23cm W x 30.5cm H. White-washed wood frame. Glazed. Double mount; white with dark green. Overall size 43cm W x 56cm H.
