Carol Sinclair is a ceramic artist based in Forfar, Angus who creates one-off sculptural porcelain pieces inspired by people and places. She creates carefully crafted work that has layers of meaning and stories to tell, hand building each piece using slab building and her unique signature inlay technique to add colour and pattern. Inspiration comes from the natural environment and the colours and textures that surround us.
Carol exhibited with us in 2024, with her exhibition ‘Continuum,’ which featured a wonderful selection of porcelain vessels, bottles and dishes all featuring her signature style.
Carol was selected by Visual Art Scotland as ‘Maker of the Year 2026,’ which is a brand new award from VAS, making her the very first recipient. She was also awarded the ‘Craft Scotland Inches Carr Established Maker Award’ for 2025, which will support her practise through 2026, allowing her to dive deeper into her craft and push her creativity. We could not be prouder to represent her work in our Gallery, and will have a limited range throughout 2026, alongside a small selection of her porcelain ear studs.
