''My exhibition work is a representation of Scottish scenery
produced with just a scalpel, paper, cutting mat and spray paint plus
considerable patience''
Kevin began his art journey in 2014, preceding his retirement. Originally working in social care, the change over to art was aided by a variety of tutors from both the UK and France, who have helped him develop skills in a wide range of media, which he regularly switches between.
He began making pieces using cut paper after a talk with artist Louise Mclaren, based in Comrie, who kindly taught him the basics of this craft and the tools that come with it.
"This led to me trying this medium and beginning to better understand what
makes the essential structure and composition of an artwork, perhaps with
just a slight flash of colour. The works are a simplification of a scene or
design but still aim to be identifiable or to have meaning."
This medium has proved successful and has encouraged him to become more adventurous in producing something that is slightly different to his other work.
