Elspeth is an artist based in the Highlands whose work is fuelled by curiosity and the quiet joy found in small, ordinary moments. She is drawn to the deep sense of ease and wonder invoked by the world around us.
Spending much of her time outdoors, Elspeth takes inspiration from imagining our reality in different ways: lilies the size of houses, oversized trinkets hidden in lochs, or worlds quietly unfolding alongside our own. Through her work, she hopes others find a gentle pause; a space to reconnect with their own moments of contentment and curiosity. Circles frequently appear in her drawings, creating contained spaces that feel safe and secret, while also expressing the vulnerability inherent in sharing them. Working in pen and ink, she is drawn to the medium’s demand for detail and quiet intensity, embracing its permanence and the careful, deliberate marks it requires.
