I knew I wanted to go to Edinburgh Fringe in August, and at some point I decided that the chairs were going with me.
Nobody seems particularly surprised when two enormous chairs are suddenly staged in the middle of the pavement for a photoshoot.
It’s Edinburgh Fringe.
I’m sitting in the shade, working away, and there are lots of curious passers-by.
More conversations.
And one thing on the back of the chairs seems to really catch people’s attention:
“I want to create more chairs, less content.”
It seems to resonate with quite a few people.
There was another conversation that came up that day which surprised me.
People started asking about fire retardant chemicals in upholstery.
I’m used to talking about this within my upholstery bubble, but I didn’t expect it to be something that would interest so many people passing by.
Perhaps we’re becoming more aware of what we bring into our homes.
I’m hopeful that we’re moving towards healthier furniture.
