An early Christian chapel dedicated to Bridget once stood in the Logiebride, or Logie Wester, burial ground.
The owl, associated here with the Celtic goddess Brigid, symbolises wisdom and the journey through the darkness of winter towards the renewal and new life of spring. Brigid was revered as a protector of livestock, fields, and new life, reflecting the vital importance of fertility and renewal to farming communities.
The intricate carvings on the Pictish Conan Stone, discovered at this site in 2019 by Anne MacInnes of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS), are reimagined as constellations and celestial guides, connecting the site’s ancient heritage with themes of navigation, wisdom, and spiritual discovery.
With special thanks to Anne MacInnes for her generous sharing of knowledge and to all the staff at Dingwall Museum for their guidance.
A truly delightful work to celebrate special family moments, particulary those with links to Ross-shire.
